The 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), per DOLE and NCMB Memoranda dated 04 and 08 November 2021, is observed annually from November 25 to December 12 to raise awareness among all stakeholders that VAW is a public issue of national concern. It supports the Philippine Government’s goal to protect the human rights of women and its commitment to address all forms of VAW. Proclamation No. 1172, s. 2006 and Republic Act No. 10398 (2013) served as its national legal mandates for the annual campaign.
The Branch takes an active part in this year’s campaign to end VAW with the theme “VAW-free community starts with Me” shifts the campaign to positive advocacy messaging by involving the officials, staff, and stakeholders’ commitment and contributions in ending VAW, and our collective pursuit and efforts towards a VAW-free institution. In view thereof, the Branch proposes to participate the “Orange Your Icon” Advocacy Initiative through “oranging” our own office by providing campaign t-shirts every Friday for all employees. This initiative aims to raise awareness and consciousness in ending VAW and achieving a VAW-free community through safe and non-exploitative activities.
