Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board-National Capital Region Director Feliciano R. Orihuela, Jr., announced recently that the Branch had conducted an Area-Wide Labor Education Seminar fpr Quezon City Cluster on March 26, 2019 at the icon Hotel, 967 EDSA corner West Avenue, Brgy. Philam, Quezon City.
“Hopefully, the recently concluded seminar in the areas of Quezon City will result in more companies joining ASAPP which will further enhance their LMCs and GMs, “Orihuela said.
“Our objectives in doing this kind of seminar are as follows: 1 To facilitate and maintain compliance with the rudiments of due process and anti-sexual harassment law as contributory elements in the fostering of harmonious labor-management relationships and industrial peace in the workplace; 2. To reiterate to the NCR companies/establishments their role in the maintenance of industrial peace in the region; and 3. To encourage NCR companies to join ASAPP’s industrial peace advocacy-an implementing arm of the Board in the promotion of its programs and services; and 4. To promote ADR concepts to the companies resulting to the enhancement of bi-partite mechanisms through the functionality of established Grievance Machinery and Labor Management Committee and sub-committee on Decorum and Investigation, “ Orihuela added.
“Fifty-six (56) representatives from thirty-one (31) organised and unorganised companies attended the said seminar,” he added.
Con-Med Cresencia M. Pawingi lectured on Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 (RA 7877) while Director Orihuela talked about Employee Discipline.
“We hoped that after attending this seminar, the participants will recognize the importance of enhancing their LMCs and GMs by always making them useful,” Orihuela said.
“The seminar will have its next phase for another cluster in the coming months,” Orihuela added.
