RCMB-NCR believes that planting trees is the answer to global warming.

About 180 narra trees have been planted by RCMB-NCR staff with the assistance of the employees of Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENTRO) Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan Office along the By Pass Road in Plaridel, Bulacan on 04 June 2015.

“We have seen a number of deaths and damaged properties, here and abroad, due to global warming and climate change.  One concrete example is typhoon “Yolanda” that hit Samar and Leyte Provinces in 2013,” Director Edgar G. Aquino said.

“Planting trees could help us fight global warming and climate change.  It also helps in making the air clean by absorbing carbon monoxide and producing more oxygen,” Aquino added.

“To insure the survival of the planted narra trees, we have partner-community groups such as the Barangay Pulong Gubat in Guiguinto, Bulacan headed by Captain Eladio B. Gonzalez, Jr. to look for and water these newly planted trees, Emma A. Cervantes,” Chief of Forest Management Services said.

The conduct of tree-planting activity is in compliance to Executive Order No. 26, Series of 2011 by President Benigno Aquino III, which requires government employees to plant a minimum of ten (10) seedlings per year.

The activity is also part of the GODP program of the Branch which aims to promote awareness among employees of the Branch of the importance of planting trees to minimize the effects of global warming.
