The complaint of Sydney M. Beltran for disability benefits based on his employment contract was settled after the issue was submitted to conciliation-mediation on November 20, 2017.

In the Branch’s report to Executive Director Shirley M. Pascual, Beltran filed a Notice to Arbitrate (NTA) case against his manning agency, RCCL Crew Management, Inc., before the Regional Conciliation and Mediation Board-National Capital Region, alleging non-payment of his full disability benefits, among others.

Con-Med Rubilyn M. Abando handled the NTA case. After series of conferences, Abando was able to settle the case on February 06, 2018.  With the settlement, Beltran received Php 2,019,480.00 as full and complete settlement of his claims.

Beltran thanked the Branch for its prompt action to address his grievances.  He also thanked Con-Med Abando for her untiring efforts to resolve his claims.

Pascual commended Abando for her efforts in facilitating the settlement of the request.

Beltran held the position of waiter on board MV “CELEBRITY SOLSTICE” until his repatriation to the Philippines sometime last year due to injury.

RCCL Crew Management, Inc., is a POEA licensed maritime personnel provider.
